Bearing One Another’s Burdens: Galatians 6:2

Galatians 6:2 (ESV)

“Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Context

In Galatians, the Apostle Paul teaches the church about living in the Spirit and caring for one another. Galatians 6:2 encourages believers to carry each other’s burdens, meaning we are to support and care for others, especially in times of difficulty. In doing so, we live out Christ’s command to love one another.

Devotional

Galatians 6:2 calls us to live out the love of Christ by bearing one another's burdens. Life can be overwhelming at times, and God never intended for us to face our challenges alone. By stepping in to help others during their times of need, whether through prayer, encouragement, or practical help, we reflect Christ’s love and compassion. This verse reminds us that being part of the body of Christ means walking alongside each other, sharing not only in joys but also in sorrows. As we bear one another’s burdens, we fulfill the law of Christ—the law of love. When we extend this love, we become the hands and feet of Jesus, offering comfort and strength to those in need.

Practical Tip

Look around in your community or circle of friends to see if someone is struggling. Offer to pray with them, listen to their concerns, or help in a practical way. Sometimes just being present with someone in their difficulty is a powerful way to bear their burden.
